God of War, released in 2018, is an action-adventure single-player game developed by Santa Monica Studio. It is the eighth installment in the God of War game series and was initially released only for PS4 and PS5, but on the 14th January 2022, it also became available for Windows PC.
Like the previous God of War games, God of War (2018) follows the story of Kratos, the former Greek God of War. In the current game, we see Kratos at an older age, fathering a son, which plays a major role from both a gameplay and storytelling perspective. God of War stays faithful to its predecessors but also marks a major shift in some aspects of its gameplay, as well as in its setting.

One of the first notable changes that players who are familiar with the previous God of War games would notice is the over-the-shoulder camera angle used throughout the majority of the game, as opposed to the fixed cinematic camera used in other GoW games. Another thing that has been changed is that Kratos now uses a single magical axe as his weapon and not his signature double-chained blades he uses in the previous games.

Even though God of War (2018) is unlikely to ever receive a macOS version, the fact that it has come to PC means that Mac users may have some options of playing the game on their Macs. As some of you probably already know, it is quite possible (and not overly complicated) to install Windows on a Mac. Once you have Windows on your Mac, you can easily download the Windows version of the game and play it. Of course, the experience would most likely not be the same as playing God of War on a PC, but if you really want to play the game, have a powerful enough Mac, and also have some time to spend setting everything up, you might as well give a try to the methods we will show you below.
The Boot Camp Assistant instructions shown above do not work on M1 Macs, so Parallels is your only potential way of running the game on your M1 Mac. However, if you are an Intel Mac user, you can still use Parallels to create a Windows virtual machine (VM) on your Mac and the instructions to do so are the same as the ones shown below. The only difference is that you must download a Windows 10 ISO file for the creation of the VM that you can download from here.
Apple fans are used to free gaming for the iPhone and iPad, but tend not to think so much about free games for macOS. This is a shame, because the Mac is a great games platform with plenty of excellent freebies.
The original Counter-Strike was released way back in 2000, and is still available as a paid-for game. The team-based Global Offensive followed in 2012, and was also paid-for, although it switched to free-to-play at the end of 2018, partly as a response to the success of titles such as Fortnite.
Global Offensive has the same anti-terrorist theme as other games in the Counter-Strike series, but focuses on online multiplayer action with two teams competing to achieve their objective, such as defusing a bomb or rescuing a group of hostages. There are several different game modes available, including Casual and Deathmatch, which are the easiest for new players who are just getting started.
While there is a bit of combat (against game monsters or other players), it has a huge amount of crafting where you can build objects and artifacts, and both farm and cook food. This gives it a charm that Tolkien fans will love.
This fast-paced single-screen wraparound platform game finds you scooting along lazily drifting platforms, trying to paint white ones blue. For reasons unknown, the other inhabitants of this neon realm hate your interior design skills and set out to stop you.
A game to set IP lawyers twitching, Pacapong finds two bats facing off, a maze of dots and ghosts between then. The ball is fired into a corridor, whereupon it takes on a famous form and starts munching dots.
Preposterously addictive and blessed with some of the catchiest music in gaming, RotMG is a twin-stick shooter and massively multiplayer (co-operative) RPG that caused massive drops in productivity in the Macworld offices one Christmas. The most brutal game in this list, Slime Time finds a little jet-packing CEO trying to cover up a toxic waste crisis. Said executive blasts about, blowing up sewer pipes that spew green goo and lasering creatures that emerge from the toxic pool below.
This strategy game sees you controlling three different races: Terrans, Zerg and the Protoss. Each race has different weapons, craft and abilities (and each feels magnificently different to play). You wage battles against one or two of the other races.
This online roleplaying game puts several players together and keeps them building up their characters. World of Warcraft is one of the greatest computer experiences ever made, and has legions of fans.
Call of Duty Warzone is an addition to the combat gaming franchise, Call of Duty, following Modern Warfare. It takes place in Verdansk, Kastovia, a fictional country in the game. It has two game modes:
Call of Duty Warzone is not exactly a new game, it has been around since March 10, 2020. At this time, it was released for gaming consoles, including Xbox One, PS4, and Microsoft Windows PCs. COD Warzone is a triple-A game (high-end graphics, heavyweight software, and tons of data), it has fairly high system requirements.
As you can see, the system requirements are quite high and you need a gaming PC with these specs to play COD Warzone. COD Warzone is currently working on the mobile version of COD Warzone that is set to be released on Google Play Store. The release date has been set to 2023 and the game is currently in Alpha testing.
AirDroid Cast lets you set the video to up to 1080p (Full HD) which allows you to play the game on a large-sized monitor without a drop in the quality of the video. Plus it makes for a better gaming experience generally.
Parallels Desktop is so easy to use, but it houses dozens of optional cool features under the hood. One of them is the Gaming profile. When this profile is enabled, Parallels Desktop provides more RAM and CPU power to Windows, enters full-screen view for better immersion, and toggles the mouse mode for better compatibility with games.
Even more false statements abound about Windows games. So, in this blog post I will set the record straight about games, and I will show you several Windows games running on an M1 MacBook Pro in a Windows 11 VM in Parallels Desktop 17.
The Sims 4 has officially gone free-to-play, and indeed players can now download the base game on Mac, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X without spending a dime. While this is not a particularly difficult thing to do, each platform does have its own quirks, which may leave some fans slightly confused about how to download The Sims 4 for free. This guide is here to dispel that confusion by walking players through the download process on all suitable platforms.
PC players should begin by downloading the EA app. When that has been done, fans should sign in using their established EA account or create a new one. Players should then search for The Sims 4 within the app and start the download through its store page.
The process of downloading The Sims 4 on a Mac is almost identical the process of downloading it on PC. The key difference is that players should start by downloading the Origin app and then login with an Origin account. From there, fans should simply search for The Sims 4 within the app and download the base game from the store page.
Downloading The Sims 4 is extremely-straightforward on PlayStation consoles, and the process begins with accessing the PlayStation Store from the Home screen. With the store open, fans of life sim video games should search for the game's title, click on View Product within the product page, and then click on Download.
Xbox owners who are interested in downloading The Sims 4 should start by navigating to the Home screen and opening the Store. These fans should then enter The Sims 4 into the search bar, click on the game, and install it from the product page that appears.
To note, while the base Sims 4 experience is free-to-play, that is not the case with its various packs. Indeed, players must still pay for The Sims 4 DLC if they are interested in any add-ons, and there are quite a number of packs to peruse. That said, there is a reasonable amount of content in the base game, which should keep new players busy for a while.
The Terrans are intrepid colonists, generations removed from Earth and governed by a failing Confederacy. Among the dilapidated fringe worlds, Marshal Jim Raynor joins up with a no-nonsense psionic assassin named Sarah Kerrigan and a group of aspiring freedom fighters to survive the destructive first contact of Protoss and Zerg. Soon, planets throughout the sector spiral into all-out war, and Raynor realizes he may have signed up for something much bigger than mere survival.
If you're a fan of life simulation games, you'll be happy to hear that The Sims 4 has officially gone free to play. Although the expansion packs and DLCs will still cost money, you can download the base game for free and start playing today.
If you're wondering how to get access to the title yourself, take a look at our download guide below. With EA already teasing it's next Sims game, Project Rene, now is a great time to start playing the latest installment in the series. 2ff7e9595c
